SWBMAI presents bluegrass banjo players Bill Evans and Alan Munde in a concert and in a Banjo Mini-Camp. Tickets ($20 for general public / $15 for SWBMAI members and Banjo Mini-Camp participants) are available at the door or you can purchase in advance below via PayPal. Advance tickets will be for the $20 price and SWBMAI members will receive their $5 rebate at the door. WORT 89.9 FM will welcome Bill and Alan.
On Saturday afternoon, April 18, there will be a Banjo MiniCamp also at The Brink. Bill and Alan will each teach two sessions: for Beginner/Low-Intermediate players and for High-Intermediate/Advanced players. Fee is $70 (to register call 608-238-6863 or email chegeler@tds.net). Mini-Camp topics are “Phonetics for Bluegrass Banjo” and “Jam Survival Skills for New Players” (Beginner/Low-Intermediate); and “Up the Neck Banjo Backup” and “Creating Solos to Songs” (High-Intermediate/Advanced).
Alan Munde is internationally recognized as a master of the 5-string banjo. In his decades-long career he has been a band leader, recording artist, teacher, writer and composer. In recent years Bill and Alan have been top instructors at bluegrass camps in the U.S. and abroad. They just completed a 10-day tour together along the West Coast.
