Mike Seeger, a seminal figure in the Folk Revival and tireless scholar of American traditional music styles, died of cancer August 7 at his home in Lexington, Va.  He was 75.

Many SWBMAI members will recall Seeger’s impressive performance at last year’s Sugar Maple Festival, as well as his surprise visit to the Dry Bean Jam the following Monday night. We join traditional music fans around the world in mourning his death.
