Nationally-acclaimed bluegrass band Special Consensus will be playing November 8th at the Frequency, Madison’s new live music venue. Special Consensus is a Chicago-based band playing traditional and original songs, earning their reputation for bridging traditional and progressive bluegrass music. Featuring founding band member and banjo extraordinaire Greg Cahill, Special Consensus has been performing bluegrass since their Midwestern inception in 1975. Newer and exceptionally accomplished additions to the band are Ashby Frank on mandolin, Justin Carbone on guitar, and David Thomas on bass. Special Consensus performs an outstanding repertoire of polished instrumentals with refined lead and harmony vocals. This show is guaranteed to be one of the finest bluegrass shows in Madison this year and should certainly not be missed.
The show is sponsored by the Four Lakes Traditional Music Collective, the organizers of Madison’s own annual traditional music showcase, the Sugar Maple Festival. The band will play from 6 to 8 pm, and seats are limited, so purchasing tickets in advance is strongly recommended. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. The Frequency is located at 121 W. Main Street in Madison.
Tickets are available at The Frequency or Spruce Tree Music.
